Pool safety for children is so important when your kids desperately need to burn off some energy. Just as important as it is for you as an adult to be aware of how to be safe, so should your kids. Teaching them the basics of pool safety from an early age will help protect them from many risks. A great way to maintain pool safety for children around the pool is by putting measures into place to keep them away from it if you aren’t present. There are a few options for this, and you can use one or more to ensure safety:

• Put a full fence up around the pool area. Make sure that it’s high enough that it can’t be climbed over, has no gaps to get through or under, and is sturdy enough for even the most rambunctious kids.
• Install a pool cover for when the pool isn’t actively being used. Make sure that it covers the full pool and is strong enough to hold up to accidentally being fallen on.
• Place alarms on any door that leads to the pool area. This will help keep you aware of unsupervised visits to the pool by children, helping prevent an accident before it can happen.

Keeping your children safe when it comes to being around the pool is so very important.
